Getting started
What is Ask Wynn?
Ask Wynn is a secure professional tax research workspace for CPA firms. It helps practitioners research tax questions, review source documents, organize work by client or project, and create review-ready deliverables.
How should I begin a research question?
Describe the tax issue, entity type, tax year, jurisdictions involved, and the decision you need to make. Attach client- or matter-specific source documents directly to that conversation.
Research
Does Ask Wynn replace professional judgment?
No. Ask Wynn supports research and practitioner review. Material conclusions, citations, calculations, and client-specific applications should be verified before reliance.
How current is the tax information?
Ask Wynn is designed to consult current authority and identify the as-of date used in its work. Because tax law and administrative guidance change, always review the cited authority for material conclusions.
Can I report an answer that needs review?
Yes. Select “Report this answer” below an Ask Wynn response. You may add a note explaining the concern, and the answer will be saved and sent to the product-review team.
Organization
What is the difference between a project, client, and tag?
Projects group related research matters. Clients associate work with a client record. Tags are flexible labels—such as topic, status, reviewer, or tax year—that make saved research easier to find.
Where can I find generated files?
Open the File library from the research sidebar. It collects generated memos and workbooks and links each file back to its source conversation.
Firm knowledge
What belongs in the firm knowledge library?
Upload governed firm resources such as policies, templates, memo formats, sample workpapers, reference documents, and house guidance. Use clear labels so the firm can review and maintain them over time.
Branding
How does firm branding work?
Workspace administrators can configure the firm name, logo, fonts, and color palette. Those defaults roll down to workspace members and are used when supported documents and workbooks are generated.
Accounts and security
Why does my work-email domain matter?
A verified work-email domain helps determine the firm workspace you join. This keeps firm settings, resources, and research access separated from other organizations.
What should I do if I cannot sign in?
Use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in screen. If the reset link or verification email does not arrive, check spam and then submit an Account or access request from the Help page.
Files
Which files can I attach to research?
The workspace accepts common tax-research formats including PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, and standard image files. Attach only materials you are authorized to use in the firm workspace.
